Deposit Guarantee Fund
The Deposit Guarantee Fund is primarily responsible for guaranteeing the repayment of deposits made with bank financial institutions domiciled in the national territory.
Deposits made at Banco Prestígio benefit from the refund guarantee provided by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD), whenever the Bank is unable to make this refund.
The FGD guarantees reimbursement up to a maximum amount of Kz 12.500.000,00 per depositor, namely demand deposits, with notice, term not depositable in advance, savings-deposits for emigrants, savings-pensioners, savings-condominium, deposits represented by certificates of deposit; mandatory deposits and other deposits legally provided for, regardless of whether the depositor is resident or not in Angola and whether the deposit is constituted in national or foreign currency. Deposit refunds by the FGD are made within 3 (three) months from the date on which the National Bank of Angola confirms and communicates to the FGD the unavailability, or in a shorter period, if FGD can do it safely.
